What is glutamine and what does it do?
Glutamine is an amino acid.
For years glutamine was not thought to be as important an amino acid as the nine
essential amino acids are. This belief was mainly due to the fact that glutamine
can normally be made in the body. For this reason, it is considered a
"non-essential amino acid" and grouped together with the likes of other
non-essentials such as L-alanine, glycine and L-tyrosine. But recent data has
shown L-glutamine to be so crucial to the body's well being that it is now being
touted as the essential "non-essential" amino acid. - Classifying it,
